On April 8, 2024, a Total Solar Eclipse will cross the United States from Texas to Maine. The Path of Totality will cross western New York, the Finger Lakes region, and the Adirondacks. The Path of Totality will not cross the Eastern Seaboard and many of those residents are expected to travel to New York, particularly from mid-Atlantic states. The New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) estimates upwards of 1 million visitors to the Finger Lakes and Western NY regions. This presentation will provide a background on the Eclipse and what to expect so health providers can better prepare for the single biggest mass travel event in the USA.
