OBJECTIVES:

  • Review lessons learned and promising practices from NYC Health and Hospitals’ experience with COVID-19 that will better prepare facilities for another wave or new outbreak.
     
  • Describe mitigation activities an organization can undertake in advance of an infectious disease outbreak.
     
  • Identify the components of a System-Wide Special Pathogens Program and ways to tailor a program to a healthcare system or facility.
     
  • Discuss how regional groups can improve preparedness and response to emerging infectious diseases.
