This is hands-on training to supplement the NYSDOH self-paced online course - OHEP-530: H5N1 Specimen Collection: Training on Nasopharyngeal, Nasal, Oropharyngeal (throat), and Conjunctival Swabbing. 

Learners will demonstrate:

• Understanding of Procedures for H5N1 Specimen Collection in a Community  Setting
• Donning of Recommended PPE prior to Field Swab Collection
• Swabbing Technique for Nasopharyngeal, Nasal, Oropharyngeal (throat), and Conjunctival Collection
• Doffing of PPE

This is to confirm that you registered for the H5N1 Swab Collection Training on June 20, 2025 from 8:30am - 12:00pm.  The course will take place at the University of Rochester Medical Center, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14642 in Room 2-7534.

Please bring two respirators (N95) that you are fit tested to.  If not available, there will be generic ones available.
