TOPIC: Emergency Hospital Evacuation of NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull

DESCRIPTION: Extreme heavy rainful due to Tropical Storm Ophelia impacted the metropolitan areas of NYC on September 29, 2023. Major flooding interrupted the underground eletrical cabling affecting the power grids in the Brooklyn neighborhood including Woodhull Hospital. Equipment malfunctions and loss of power necessitated the temporary evacuation and transfer of approximately 116 patients from Woodhull. In this presentation, the Chair and Co-Chair of Woodhull's Emergency Management Committee will share their experience and lessons learned from this event.
