HAZMAT FOR FIRST RESPONDER/RECEIVER OPERATION LEVEL
Objective:
To provide First Responder/Receiver Operation level training for hospital responders in the event of a chemical exposure.
Topics to include:
- Site investigation and characterization
- Hazard recognition
- Decontamination procedures
- Safety, health and other site hazards
- Understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG)
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work practices that minimize risk
- Safe use of controls and equipment
- Air monitoring and instrumentation
- Recognition of signs and symptoms of exposure
- Medical surveillance
