Course Description

Module 2 of 10 of the Universal Safety Training.

This webinar is hosted by the Office of the Aging and Long-Term Care (OALTC), Division of Residential Support. It features Dr. Jen Moore DNP MSN BS RN CNEcl NY-SAFE EMT, Assoiate Director and Quality Assurance and Perfomrance Improvement Manager of OALTC. Dr.Moore successfully modified this training from the Office of Mental Health Universal Safety and Establishing Trusting Relationships program (TRUST) program in 2024 to meet the needs and safety concerns voiced by surveillance staff in the field. 

Universal Safety Training is divided into ten (10) online modules that should be taken in order. When complete, a student should then sign up for the in person Defensive Techniques four (4) hour presentation and skills demonstration. 

After successful completeion of the ten (10) online modules and in person Defensive Techniques presentation and skills demonstration, the student will be awarded a completion certificate that should be renewed annually.
