Course Description
Emergencies increase risk of harm for older adults living with impaired mobility, cognitive deficits, chronic diseases, social isolation, and limited financial resources. The public health sector is uniquely situated to implement emergency preparedness strategies to protect older adults and their caregivers in the face of emergency situations. The July AFPHS highlighted the public health sector’s role in protecting older adults and their caregivers during emergencies, with a focus on communication.
