This course is a part 1 of a 2 part requirement for the Year 12 Local Health Department (LHD) Performance Incentive Program (PIP)
Course Description:
The Year 12 LHD PIP introduces the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Active Communities Tool (ACT). The course discusses the importance of activity friendly routes to everyday destinations in supporting physical activity. The webinar will help LHD staff learn about two components of the ACT, understand the process for and resources needed to complete the ACT modules, and the expectations for completing at least two modules and submitting evidence of completion to the NYS Department of Health.
Learning Objectives – by the end of this course, learners will be able to…:

Describe the importance of activity friendly routes to everyday destinations in supporting physical activity

Identify the two components of CDC’s Active Communities Tool (ACT)

Outline the process for completing the ACT modules

Recognize resources needed to complete the ACT

Articulate expectations for completing at least two modules and submitting evidence of completion to the NYS Department of Health.
