Course Description

In part seven of this 8-part series, the Pediatric ID Board Certifying Examination Content related to TB is presented by expert speakers via case-based, interactive live webinars. The series goes beyond basic TB concepts while following the pediatric ID guidelines. This session focuses on infection, control, source case, and contact investigations.

Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Compare contagiousness of children of different ages with pulmonary TB, and apply this to planning investigations
  • Discuss importance and indications for source case investigation
  • Plan evaluation for contacts of patients with various forms of TB disease
  • Discuss infection control guidelines for a child hospitalized with TB disease
