Course Description

When the World Comes to Us: Preparing for Disease Importation During Peak Travel & Events 

  • Understand how tourism and migration affects every sector—from ERs to SNFs and urgent cares
  • Encourage and apply travel screening across all intake points
  • Identify relevant infectious diseases
  • Understand global health trends and increasing antimicrobial resistance rates
  • Identification of misinformation and combating the spread of
  • Understand the importance of vaccination and implementation in inhibiting the spread of infectious diseases
  • Implement methods that consider vulnerable populations such as immigrants, pregnant individuals, and varying sexual orientation
  • Identify initial response measures
  • Encourage global surveillance, especially within high-tourism areas
