A key focus of the training will be the use of fluoride varnish as an evidence-based preventive intervention. Participants will learn about the effectiveness of fluoride varnish in preventing dental caries, its role in primary care and medical settings, and how it can support broader oral health prevention efforts at the local level.
The training will be led by Dr. Melinda Clark, a pediatrician with expertise in pediatric oral health and preventive care. Dr. Clark brings a unique perspective on integrating oral health prevention into routine clinical care and community health efforts.

Primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, Public Health Workers, Local Health Department Staff
This training is part of the Local Health Department Performance Initiative Measure 3 and is designed to support the promotion of preventive dental services across counties.
