Program Description

Early Intervention Evaluation, Assessment, and Eligibility Determination

This course is designed to provide early intervention providers with the information they need to perform screenings, multidisciplinary evaluations (MDEs), and make Early Intervention Program (EIP) eligibility determinations in compliance with federal and State laws and regulations.

The course reviews: the steps in the process from referral to eligibility determination in the EIP, the roles and responsibilities of the MDE team members, and the required components of the MDE (including, but not limited to developmental assessment tools, explaining and offering and documenting the family-directed assessment, determining eligibility in the EIP, including through the use of informed clinical opinion, and reporting the results of a screening and/or MDE).

Providers must complete all four Video Sessions, which included a quiz following the completion of each Video Session. Once participants have successfully completed each Session and its quiz, obtaining a score of 100% on the quiz, a “Program Certificate” (in other words a Certificate of Completion) will be generated. The “Program Certificate” is what is used to verify that you have successfully completed the entire Evaluation, Assessment & Eligibility Determination in the EIP Couse, and this Program Certificate provides documentation that the participant has completed the entire Evaluation, Assessment & Eligibility Determination in the EIP Couse and is required to provide evaluations in the EIP, as per the Early Intervention Provider Agreement. This certificate must be maintained by the provider and produced upon audit or municipal review.

Providers must complete all four Sessions and obtain the final Program Certificate (Certificate of Completion), totaling 5 certificates in order to have successfully completed this course in it's entirety.
